I was going through my life considering myself hopelessly romantic for a long time. Believing that a fairy-tale would come to life and change everything in my life; the way I think, speak, act and
even a part of who I am. I was a bit shocked and surprisingly relieved at the
same time when I realized that it’s not romance what I seek but that kind of
affection and caring that comes with love. However, the question why romance has disappeared
from our lives still remains in my mind; I mostly blame our modern fast
paced lives for not granting us enough time for the necessary emotional chit-chats and
expressions of feelings, and partly Hollywood for making all of us believe in
living happily ever after. But let just all face the reality for a moment and
accept the facts as they really are. Romance do not really exists nowadays. Every time I witness a
twenty-first century real life romance expression, I can’t help but wonder; is
there any form of modern romanticism in that relationship? Post-it conversations and lunching during work breaks is not romance. I have to admit that It’s pretty clear that modern lovers have
reached an impressive and different level of connecting and communicating; I am not saying if
this is a good or a bad thing, but I do say that modern day couples live their
romance as part of their routine and in my book romance and routine do not match. Personally, I may not believe in romance anymore, but I still believe in
love, and I would like to finish with a bit of advice for everyone. Let those you love know how
you feel; some are not as lucky as you are in matters of the heart.

How did you get to be so wise so young, Vasileios? I really like the considered way in which you write your blogs. I'm quite a bit older than you, and I don't think I've come even yet to such reasoned observations as yours. I live in Newcastle. I would really like the chance to get to know you. I'll try to contact you now on Facebook Messenger. Otherwise, do you have an email address I could use? Best wishes to you. Peter
